Los medios chinos acusan a Google de seguir una agenda política en su estrategia local
En un comentario firmado por tres periodistas de Xinhua, la agencia estatal de noticias, se defiende cierto nivel censura del Gobierno chino sobre contenidos "ofensivos o sensibles" en Internet, una de las razones que Google ha citado a la hora de amenazar con abandonar sus prácticas empresariales en China, un anuncio que podría realizar mañana lunes.
"Lamentablemente, el reciente comportamiento de Google muestra que la compañía no sólo busca expandir su negocio en China, sino que juega un rol activo en exportar cultura, valores e ideas", indicó el artículo. "Es injusto que Google imponga sus propios valores y criterios acerca de la regulación de Internet en China, que tiene su propia tradición, valores y cultura", señaló.
El pasado viernes, China Business News informó de que el gigante de búsquedas estadounidense podría anunciar a partir del lunes sus intenciones de abandonar sus negocios en China. Hace dos meses, Google dijo que había sido objetivo de sofisticados ataques cibernéticos originados dentro de China, y sostuvo que no aceptaría seguir siendo sometido a las reglas de censura del Gobierno, incluso aunque ello significara cerrar su sitio de inicio, Google.cn.
Desde entonces, las negociaciones han estado en un punto muerto, aunque el presidente ejecutivo de Google, Eric Schmidt, señaló que esperaba pronto un resultado de las negociaciones con funcionarios chinos.
China requiere que los operadores de internet bloqueen palabras e imágenes que el gobernante Partido Comunista considera inaceptables, incluyendo aquellos que aborden temas políticamente sensibles. Pekín también ha bloqueado la entrada sitios populares a nivel internacional, como Facebook, Twitter y YouTube.
En el comentario de Xinhua, sus autores acusaron a Google de violar las normas internacionales. "De hecho, ningún país permite un flujo irrestricto del contenido pornográfico, violento, supersticioso o de apuestas en internet, o contenido de subversión al Gobierno, separatismo étnico, extremismo religioso, racismo, terrorismo y animosidad contra los extranjeros", aseveró.
Al igual que en otras disputas con empresas extranjeras y otros Gobiernos, el comentario señaló que la postura de China en este caso es que se trata de un "asunto puramente interno".
